Pozo de Luna was a long time dream for its owners, Manuel Muñiz Werge and José Cerrillo Chowell. Their passion for the world of wine was solidified in 2011 with the goal of making the highest quality wine that the land of San Luis Potosí has to offer. 

For us, to discover Pozo de Luna was to discover a hidden gem. Located just in the outskirts of the capital city of San Luis Potosi, it is one of the few wineries in the state and it has already managed to consolidate its portfolio of selected wines full of personality and authenticity. The winery has a small production of single varietals, aged 14 months in barrels and at least 26 months in bottle, these stunning Syrah, Malbec, Merlot and Viogner labels are perfect for lovers of old world wines and new world wines alike. 

Pozo de Luna started as a dream which many thought was impossible in this area. Now, through winemaking processes of excellence and limited yields, a microclimate unique to their land, and the winemaker's expertise, they offer wines with authentic Potosí expression. We are more than proud to bring these tremendous quality wines and share with the European market.

Winemaker

Dr. Joaquín Madero Camargo

Dr. Joaquín Madero Camargo, better known in the wine world as Quino, studied agricultural engineering in Saltillo, Coahuila, as well as viticulture and oenology in Montpellier and Bordeaux, France. He has decades of experience both in Bordeaux and in different wine regions of Mexico. Since 2010, he has been responsible for the Pozo de Luna vineyards where he has obtained great recognition for his wines, such as the Grand Gold at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.
